AIL Series II - Session 2: Advancing Intersectional Allyship

1.0 Ethics/DEI Credits

This session’s conversation is centered on the power of allyship in advancing inclusive leadership. Moderated by Professor Rangita de Silva de Alwis, we tell the story of Gitankali Swamy identifying Reggie Van Lee as a key mentor early on in her career. From their partnership we gain insight on: How do we build systems that fosters diversity at businesses? How do we get minority groups into leadership positions? How do we build more spaces for POC and bring more POC into those spaces at the same time? These are just some of the questions that Gitankali tackles as she details her journey to drafting proposed bill S939 calling for sexual harassment and discrimination laws in Massachusetts to apply to not just employers, but also investors and financiers with a focus on venture capitalists.
